On Arizona Public Media’s Political Roundtable last night: Tucson Tea Party founder Trent Humphries, Pima County Democratic Party chairman Jeff Rogers and former state lawmaker Pete Hershberger discuss Mitt Romney’s commentary about the 47 percent; the latest in the race between Congressman Ron Barber and GOP challenger Martha McSally; the TV ads in the Flake-Carmona Senate contest; civility on the Roundtable set; the race between Republican Ally Miller and Democrat Nancy Young Wright for the seat of retiring Pima County Supervisor Ann Day; and the untimely passing of Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever.

Did Humphries call the people at Mitt Romney’s fundraiser, “Investors?” (2:25 into the video)
It’s too bad that Barber is an empty suit, but will win. McSally will not be able to beat Gabby’s memory. At least 2 years with rubber stamp Barber, too bad.
I enjoyed watching this video.
But this old – but still slim – very white man is a bit disappointed that no one on the panel challenged the Tucson Tea Party’s alleged founder, Mr. Trent Humpries.
(Trent was that youthful-looking, blue-eyed,and blonde-haired fellow, immaculately clad in what appears to be expensive clothing.)
The question I missed was, “Did you actually see Broadway play “The Book of Mormon,” which you are denouncing?”
I also have another question that I wished that panel had asked of Trent: “Why was it that during the Republican National Convention that the Tea Party virtually disappeared?”
Maybe it’s because some in the Republican Party have finally faced the fact that it has a very long row to hoe, to persuade my mostly brown-skinned neighbors here in Santa Cruz County, to vote Republican?
Trust me, Trent, that will never, ever happen hereabouts.
