Now, I’m not one to get in the middle of fights (apparently I just start them) but this love letter from The Daily Show’s Lewis Black to Texas is just too damn good to pass up.
The backstory: Apparently, Texas Gov. Rick Perry is blasting ads all over the country, telling businesses to pull up stakes in whatever supposedly-crappy state they’re currently in and come down to Texas, “while they still can.”
New Yorkers are taking issue with that…hence, this response from Lewis Black. Note, the language is NSFW — as are the oft-raised middle fingers throughout.

I live in Arizona and do not really care what New York thinks of Texas. However, businesses leave New York for Texas for the same reason so many businesses leave California for Arizona; the business climate is much nicer. While Lewis Black may respond to that by saying F*** Texas, there are a lot of business responding by saying F*** getting taxed to death and heading to Texas where they are waiting with open arms.
I live in Arizona and do not really care what Texas thinks of New York. However, workers leave Texas for New York for the same reason so many workers leave Arizona for California; the livable wage climate is much nicer. While Lewis Black may respond to that by saying F*** Texas, there are a lot of workers responding by saying F*** getting starved to death and heading to New York or California where they are waiting with open arms.
That was one hilarious Lewis Black bit! This is the kind of great stuff the Star would fail to share with us. Let’s not keep Tucson, our business climate, or our wage climate shitty. Thanks again to Mr. Mendez for the humorous and unorthodox content.

Did anyone else besides me notice that at about 1:20, the cop is walking by the guy taking a leak, the guy lets go of his penis and they hi-five each other?!?!?! Only in New Yawk!
F**k Texas and F**k Arizona. they are both populated by regressives.
Hey, Dogs: It was not Arizona’s independence that built the State. It was and is New York and eastern establishment money (billions) that constructed the water reclamation projects, which have made the Valley of the Sun the environmental disaster that it is today. Sadly, it is bat-shit stupid leadership that continues to make the place a haven for wackos, gun nuts, and religious zealots — why am I still here? Because, my grandchildren haven’t left yet and I still hold out hope that saner minds will eventually prevail.
Rick Perry should be forced to watch this video on a loop! My Austin friend, who is an attorney, detests Rick Perry whose administration is marked by crony payoffs and enrichment of his supporters.
Perry makes sure his supporters are richly rewarded, and reaps the benefits himself. He has done anything to remain in office, and he’d like to be president of the U.S.
The business climate might be great in Texas, but if your wife needs health care, or if your children need an education, Texas is more than willing to provide state sponsored misogyny, and superstitious dreck instead.
