We finally made it over to the newish New York Pizza Department for a slice this week. The pizzeria at 1521 N. Wilmot Road did not disappoint, and it’s currently running a special where you can get a soda and a slice for $3.
The menu is all subs, pizzas, Paninis, calzones and a few desserts. The air is heavy with garlic and tomato. The staff is very friendly and will stop hand-tossing crusts to help you. There are a dozen or so tables to sit at, and you get your own soda from the fountain.
The place also gets bonus points for its rather clever slogan, “To Perfect and Serve Pizza.” I’ll bet Tucson’s police officers friggin’ love this place.
Delivery is available for orders of at least $20. Call 207-7667 for more information.

Did you have any food? How was it?
As an employee, I can confirm that delivery is available on all orders, however a $2 delivery is added to any order under $20.
The slice I had was delicious, melty and gone in seconds. Also: Thanks for the info about delivery!
Pizza is soggy, not foldable as NY pizza is, staff is not friendly or professional.. To much cheese…
No good
