NBC News is reporting that the death of Border Patrol agent Nicolas Ivie, who was killed Tuesday morning while investigating a disturbance east of Naco, Arizona, was a result of “friendly fire,” or an accidental shooting by his fellow Border Patrol agents.

Investigators are preparing to announce that the death of Border Patrol Agent Nicholas Ivie in Arizona earlier this week was the result of friendly fire — accidental gunfire from another agent who responded to the same scene, state and federal officials told NBC News on Friday.
The conclusion is based on an analysis of the ballistics, the lack of evidence of other criminals in the area at the time, and other factors, the sources said.

I feel nothing but sadness.
Because this reminds me too much of BP agent, Brian Terry, who was shot and killed less than 2 miles from my home in Rio Rico.
Brian died from a gunshot in his back.
Possibly, also, from “friendly fire?”
