The editors at the conservative National Review don’t think much of Sheriff Joe’s “investigation” into Obama’s birth certificate:

Republicans who have chosen to associate with the birthers have done their party and their country a disservice. And as Sheriff Arpaio settles comfortably into that political mental ward, the same must be said of those Republicans who choose to associate themselves with him more broadly. Those who cannot distinguish between the birthers’ flim-flam and the critical questions that face our nation in 2012 will not win and do not deserve to.

Meanwhile, Nick R. Martin at Talking Points Memo reports that one of Sheriff Joe’s “investigators” is trying make a buck by peddling this nonsense:

Michael Zullo, the investigator who took center stage at Arpaio’s news conference last week, has already co-authored an e-book about his investigation and is selling it for $9.99 on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

The book gives Zullo a financial motive to continue stoking the flames of a conspiracy theory that has been debunked numerous times by an array of independent investigations.

  1. One wonders how “Greed is Good” Mitt Romney will digest these sad, frustrated and silly people.

Perhaps a Rasmussen poll or some other righty Ouija(tm) board will tell us, Senior Writer Jim Nintzel…

  2. Anyone who has ever used Photoshop ONE time will realize that the birth certificate in dispute is not only phony but created by someone who has probably used that program TWICE.

  3. Quit killing the messenger.
Is it a forgery or not? Plain and simple…
ALL of you saying Arpaio’s a nut simply don’t know the facts of this sophomoric attempt to forge a document.
Not only it is a forgery… but its a bad one at that! See for yourself.
Oh… but you are afraid of realizing the truth. WE HAVE BEEN BAMBOOZLED by the Democrates AND Republicans. They all work together. Wake up!

  4. I find it interesting that every person the right puts up is subjected to fierce scrutiny and even name calling. But Obama slides on through as if he is the second coming of Christ. If anyone dares to cast a doubt or even questions any part of his story they are demonized or called a racist. Maybe Joe got this one right, I’d be suprised. Both parties are not exempt from the rule of law, it is too bad the press doesn’t realize it.

  5. Are you all looking at “copies” of the birth certificate on Sheriff Joe’s or Donald Trump’s website. Both side and the judiciary have looked at this and found nothing. If the only argument against the guy is that he’s not a national then I guess he deserves another term

  6. This isn’t about Obama. It’s about Arpaio. And I continue to be astounded that people defend him and/or vote for him. There is something there beyond logic…
