Did somebody say sell your personal items to make ends meet?

McDonald’s has passed on some terrible financial and health management advice to its underpaid employees, again. Low Pay Is NOT OK captured some screen shots of some words of wisdom from a McDonald’s website that’s designed to “help” its employees.

You may also want to consider returning some of your unopened purchases that may not seem appealing as they did. Selling some of your unwanted possessions on eBay or Craigslist could bring in some quick cash.

The website also suggests that workers break up their food into smaller pieces, take two vacations (they can’t afford) a year, and quit whining to avoid hormone levels from rising. All this could be possible if the fast food joint considered paying their employees more than $7.25 an hour.

  1. I have never been a fan of Mcdonalds and consider their food poison. However, the nice thing about living in America is we have choices. If I had a business that only paid $1.00 per hour, I would not get very many people to work for me….guess what…..if you don’t like what Mcdonalds has to offer in the way of pay, benefits, etc…YOU have the choice to go somewhere else. Period.

  2. The problem is, most of these folks are a paycheck away from living in a cardboard box. Any interruption in income is a serious problem. That, and the fact that most pay the same crappy wages. Because they have gotten away with it thus far. That should cease. Unless you’re happy with your tax dollars being used to make sure McDonald’s employees don’t starve to death. Subsidizing a very profitable company isn’t my idea of the best use of that money.

  3. in theory, the guy that said “don’t like the pay, go somewhere else…” is correct….in practice not only is that garbage, but it’s just mean. the problem is, everyone else it’s playing the same game, and education is a great way out of this if you are fortunate enough to find a way to pay for it. I have given up on McDonald’s and reuse to darken their doors. that is a great choice.
