  1. The only problem Markie is most states have the Background checks you speak of and it has zero impact…. Ya see, criminals and mental cases do undergo background checks… it is nothing but a worthless “Feelgood” piece of Legislation…. An intelligent man such as yourself SHOULD be able to see it…. Obama want it to pass and fail so he can go for the complete banning of all weapons….. can you say confiscation?
    All you have to do is look at the NY law that just passed… after a time period, you will have your magazines confiscated if it is more than 7 rounds… even in your home it is a crime. That is a complete violation of the constitution… it will be overturned in court…

  2. Makes no difference on what kind or how many background checks they do on a person isn’t going to tell them anymore than they do now. They need to deal with the mental health issues as in making that information available to authorities.

  4. Loughner bought his gun at a store, so adding background checks on private transactions wouldn’t have stopped him.

  5. Loughner went through the federal background check Dave, the problem was the local Sheriff covered for Loughner during the PCC complaints becuse he didn’t want the family embarassed.

  6. Why would a criminal buy a gun at a legitimate store when they can get one at a show…no background check. A required background check for purchasing a gun is reasonable and a good first thing to do.

  7. Here’s the deal, Mr. Kelly. If we insist on universal background checks, the criminal elements will have to start buying their weapons directly from Eric Holder.

  8. Mr. Kelly your wife would not have been shot if the old liberal sheriff had done his job properly and posted a couple of duties at that meeting.

  10. Universal background checks. Make every sale go through a federally licensed dealer to be legal, then withhold the licenses till nobody can ok a sale. Now all guns are illegal and confiscation can begin. Don’t even have stop issuing licenses just charge millions for them and the fee for background checks will keep the guns out of the hands of ‘those people’ and only the proper sort will be able to afford self defense. FREE BACKGROUND CHECKS AVAILABLE TO ALL WITHOUT ANY LICENSE. Ohh can’t do that because will reveal that checking won’t help because it’s allready failed. I would do a free background check for all person to person sales BUT IT IS AGAINST THE LAW. yep cause a problem then demand new laws to fix the problem the old law caused. Sound like any criminal protection zone law some of us already know of?
