What’s that they say about every vote counting? Republican state Rep. Ethan Orr now leads Democratic challenger Randy Friese by a scant eight votes: Orr is 27,774; Friese is 27,766.

Meanwhile, in the TUSD race, Michael Hicks is now leading Jen Darland by 991 votes.

  1. You could also mention that Mach leads Clodfelter by only 500 votes in LD10 — though the remaining votes are unlikely to produce a switch that large.

  2. Such slight-of-hand, Jim! With the stroke of a pen, abracadabra, you’ve turned LD9 into a two-MAN race! Oh that’s right, Ms. Steele ran unopposed. Nice of the Weekly to admit that . . . post election!

  3. LD9 was gerrymandered by the (Independent) redistricting commission to become a Democratic stronghold, though that area has always been reasonable, except when they sent that idiot from Saddlebrooke to the Senate. I am glad to see that the people there are still reasonable.

  4. Gerrymandered districts do not produce results like the one we have currently in LD9, where 259 votes separated first from third place as of Wednesday evening. In a Democratic stronghold Ethan Orr would not come close. But of course lc69hunter may have his own definitions for ‘gerrymander’ and ‘stronghold’. They would be interesting to see.

  5. Stupid is as Stupid does. Ethan Orr was the only reason LD9 had any representation last year. Steele nor Friese can even pass gas in the current House. Oh well, it is self destructive Pima County. I guess the people here enjoy the loss of jobs?
