The La Mesa Tortillas location at 2112 W. Grant Road, which has been turning out killer tortillas and a small menu of lunch items for about three years, is closed.

The sign in the window says the other La Mesa Tortillas location, at 7131 E. Broadway Blvd., remains open. The store’s website says the third location at 3923 E. Pima St. also remains open.

And, in keeping with the everlasting ebb and flow of restaurant openings and closings, a location of everybody’s favorite take-and-bake pizza joint, Papa Murphy’s, is setting up right next to the now vacated La Mesa Tortillas space. So there’s that.

  1. Wow – better make a run to my store over off Pima before they close too! Thanks Obama – ! For the suckie economy!!

  2. Although I loved their tortillas and chilie verde, they were not very active about making money. Cash only, food served for about 3 hrs a day, etc. Economy is not involved as much as bad buisiness. Too bad though as I said I liked them.

  3. I agree w/Sad 2 Hear…I dislike their “Cash only” policy. Now, just to let everyone know, their Eastside Broadway location closes WHEN THEY RUN OUT OF TORTILLAS, despite, the hours they promote !! I used to be a regular customer for years & its frustrating !! I haven’t been there as frequently because of this & the fact they only accept cash. It’s a shame, they refuse to make the effort to make more food, they have delicious tortillas.

  4. I’m sure Obama is their business manager and has forced them to utilize these policies so they would have to close. My family pretty much stopped buying tortillas when Grande Tortilla Factory closed.
