While I think the Tea Party movement has manifested itself in some wildly unfortunate ways – the whole “birther” thing, Michele Bachmann as vaguely legitimate political force – I try to assume that most of the people associated with it are reasonable people frustrated by not being heard.
Then you’ve got this guy, selling shirts in a booth labeled “Fox News” for some reason at a Fourth of July event in Lexington, Kentucky. Just in case you can’t read the text on his shirt, it says “Yup, I’m A Racist”.
Sigh.

Why do you try to assume these are reasonable people? I have not met one yet who can reason well.
There was for a time a guy who sat off of Houghton Rd (east side) selling shirts that said “Obama Sucks” and “Death to Democrats.” Not sure exactly what he thought he was adding to the mix, but apparently one of the unhappiest people on the planet.
Apparently, you don’t get out much, Cascabel. Maybe you oughta get out of your Progressive hangouts and talk to some of us, and you just might discover some things…about us – and yourself.
May I also add that one picture does not an entire issue make. His shirt appears to have some sarcasm in it…y’all might want to try picking it up sometime. Why the “Fox News” on there? Anyone’s guess. Maybe he is just trying to get people to look at his booth by pretending to be affiliated with Fox News. Kinda dumb, actually.
Now, I wouldn’t align myself with this dude…especially on the basis of looking at his setup. But I would at least like to have a talk with him and see where he is. If he starts spouting off racial epithets and birther crap and stuff like that, then I would politely end the conversation and move on. My “Tea Party” affiliation is about cutting debt, spending wisely, self-reliance, fixing our broken borders, bringing our troops home from all this nation-building and humanitarian crap, cleaning out the corruption in Washington, and restoring America to the principles of our Founding Fathers. Now, is that reasonable, Cascabel?
American degeneracy = Archie Bunker + Guns + Tattoos + Teabag Sociopathy
Really not worth spitting on…
But at least these teabaggers don’t let big damn gubmint tell them to wear a helmet when they climb on their Harleys! At least something good sometimes comes from that: Mama may have dropped them on their heads when they were babes; but Daddy Hog finishes the job. Bye bye brute. Don’t let the casket door hit you in your fat anti-gov ass…

Too bad none of this will happen, you are just being used by the GOP and the wealthy elite who control this country. How does it feel being nothing more then a gullible tool?
Just a reminder that name-calling is not welcome at TucsonWeekly.com. Thanks.
