Thanks to Dangerous Minds for posting two advertisements for the JohnnyCash Money Machine, an early ATM from Canada Trust Bank. 1985, when this commercial was aired, wasn’t the high point of Cash’s career (he was about to be dropped from his long-running label Columbia and had suffered a severe injury by ostrich a few years prior), so I suppose it makes sense he would have taken the somewhat strange gig, but it’s still a little odd to see the same man who sang about murder on a Folsom Prison stage extolling the virtues of getting cash from a machine.
