He might not have wanted to be a politician, but it appears that Republican Jesse Kelly, the Tea Party champion who has now lost two congressional campaigns here in Southern Arizona, is going off to Washington.

We’re told by multiple sources that Kelly has landed a job with Citizens United, the political operation that produces right-wing documentaries and, through its Political Victory Fund, supports GOP candidates. (Kelly himself was endorsed and given a cool $10,000 by Citizens United during the recent special election; the group also also aired an ad on his behalf.)

Here’s hoping he can do for Republicans nationwide what he did for them here in Southern Arizona.

  1. It’s not surprising that a character like Jesse Kelly, would be nominated for that type of position. Good things come too those of us who wait. So, bye, bye, Jesse, and good riddance.

  2. So Jesse Kelly got a job shilling for billionaires… he’s hoping that they even might pay him what he’s worth… which ain’t much.

  3. No Rose-Marie, liberals and conservatives are just two groups of people with different opinions on what’s best for the U.S. It’s foaming at the mouth haters like you who are suffering from mental illness- and destroying our country in the process

  4. As per usual Nintzel comes in late on the story. Would you lefties rather him go on welfare, food stamps, and all the other give away programs? All the viciousness would indicates that you fear he will do damage to the left smoke screen and expose it for what it is–redistribution of wealth.

  5. @ Scooper: Redistribution of wealth? Nah. Just everybody paying their fair share.

  6. Hopefully with any luck Jesse Kelly will stay in Washington. Kelly wants to lower minimum wage. The “Fair Tax” system will not work in America. Everyday necessities such as housing, cars, gas, food in America are already too expensive. Do you want an employer to only pay his employers $10.00 a day? No human can live on 10.00 a day. Sweat shops will pop up all over America. Kids will be working for a pentance. Adults will be out of more jobs. Lowering minimum wages benifits the business owner only. Good Ridince Jesse Kelly. You have lost 2 elections….don’t waste any more money.

  7. They need a edit button on comments. Typo on my last post. Do you want Employers to pay Employees only $10.00 a day.

  8. I’ve always felt that the Kelly construction company told him to find another job because they couldn’t afford him as a “project manager” ergo his run for political office. Now he gets the Republican payback for giving it “the old college-oops-high school try two times.

  9. Hardly a big surprise that Jesse Kelly would be sucking on the teats of rich benefactors like the Koch Bros. They have massively supported Repugs of his ilk in many elections throughout the U.S., especially since the SCOTUS passage of “Citizens United”.

  10. I am certainly glad CD8 didn’t elect him to congress! He will be able to inflict much more damage to the liberal agenda with Citizens United than he ever would have in congress!

  11. Liberals are truly killing this country. You get someone decent who wants to do a good job and they make up everything in the book about him, misquote him and even lie about him. Good luck, Jesse, the grown-ups are behind you. And hopefully we will stop the voter fraud, too! G-d Bless America!
