“Sock-puppet-gate.” You read it here first (at least I think you did, since I just made it up). It’s getting increasing attention around the state, and it’s starting to go national. This morning, it’s the lead story on Talking Points Memo.

Not getting nearly enough coverage, however, is the sock puppet aspect of the comments. Huppenthal is emphasizing his right to free expression. But he’s not mentioning that he’s playing the guy behind the curtain shouting about “Hupp the Great and Powerful,” while he’s pretending someone else is singing his praises.

  1. Yeah, I’m pretty sure James Madison and our founding fathers didn’t adopt pseudonyms to write about how awesome they were. There’s some serious narcissism at work to have a disconnect like that.

  2. John, and I know your reading this because you’re a psycho-maniac, I don’t know who you think you’re influencing with blog commentary. Even obsessively.

A hallmark of your clueless detachment. It’s good to get paid though.

You’d have better luck posting unappetizing photos of the food you’re about to eat.

  3. This time, let’s be sure to elect someone – David Garcia – to be Arizona’s Superintendent of Education who will devote their time to student success rather than playing games like hide-and-go-seek.

Yes, John Huppenthal has every right to free speech. And we have every right to think that what he says is disgusting, and to elect someone else.

  4. Didn’t he also modify some Wiki pages too? I seem to remember something about that…

  5. Arizona seems to have a penchant for electing people to state political office who don’t have the slightest qualifications for their office. State Superintendent of Schools… REALLY???

John Huppenthal, would, however easily qualify as a worthy successor to our esteemed State Attorney General, Tom Horne the former School Superintendent. These people are pathetic, but a majority in this state elected them to office.

  6. Yes logical thinker. He seeds his own and adversaries with Wiki content that pleases him.
