Thanks, Hoover. I’ve only had terrible luck with your vacuums, but I appreciate that your corporate bigwigs are trying to keep All My Children on the air::
The first advertiser to step forth and protest ABC Daytime’s decision to dispatch with both All My Children and One Life to Live, Hoover announced on Monday that it was pulling its advertising from ABC as a whole effective this Friday. In fact, “We’re making every attempt to pull our spots from these programs sooner,” reads the message from Brian Kirkendall, Hoover’s VP of Marketing, posted to the company’s Facebook page.In a nice, personal touch, Kirkendall shares that his wife and mother are “both passionate viewers of All My Children and One Life to Live, as are many of my colleagues here at Hoover.” As such, he says that Hoover is “as disappointed with this [double cancellation] news as you are.”
Beyond not showing ABC the money, Hoover has set up the email address SaveTheSoaps@Hoover.com. The company will collect messages from soap fans and relay them to ABC through its own channels.
“We’re 150% committed to doing what matters most to you,” says Hoover’s rallying cry to soap fans, “so if there’s anything else we can do to help or you have any ideas, please email [us].”

Thanks Hoover, I guess I am one of the 50yrs and over in the demographics that watch Soaps.I will not watch any thing in those time slots where they are cancelling these two soaps.I will just watch another soap on another network. I will miss AMC I have watched it for 41yrs.What a shame.
As the comment before me, I would ban ABC viewing. I am an avid fan of both All My Children and One Life To Live. I am very upset! I hope and pray ABC will change it’s mind on this change. The thought of uprooting the entire cast, and then dumping them is evil. I will not any ABC programs if the suits ignore the fans and go ahead with this shameful idea

Thanks Hoover for supporting us loyal soap fans – I will be among the very many AMC & OLTL viewers who will not be watching ABC’s new shows. I watch the Food Network & the Cooking channel – that is enough. I am very disappointed in ABC’s decision to cancel these soaps…Even my husband, who never watches my soaps, couldn’t believe it! Goodbye ABC
I can’t image that anything they could replace the 2 soaps with would do better. We don’t need anymore talk shows, heaven knows the ones we have now are worthless. I don’t want to be analyzed by some quack or have someone explain the meaning of life or what the “stars” are doing. We are smarter than that and we just want our soaps.

I am 52 years old and have watched All my Children and One life to live for all of its times on air. I can recall being at the mall with my grandma watching the shows on the TV’s at Sears because were were not going to make it home on time to see them. I can not believe that this is happening. There must be something that we can do to stop the shows from beng cancelled. Who needs another talk show or cooking show in this time slot. I am so mad !!!! Someone please help to keep these shows on air, if you need to go back to them being 15min shows or 30 min shows.I am keeping my fingers crossed and praying for the shows to stay on air.
