[Wildly unsafe for watching at work, by the way, unless you work here, then I think it’s ok.]
Basically, someone just went to the Gathering of the Juggalos and interviewed Insane Clown Posse fans. In the end, it turns out that they’re just people who aim to accept other people, but also value “not giving a fuck”. A philosophy perfect for our post-modern age, I suppose.
ICP hit the Rialto Theatre, Faygo in hand, on October 8th.

These people are a complete waste of oxygen
That’s accepting…
Great little film. The Juggs are a confusing and contradictory lot, but in someway entertaining. I am thankful “Burnie” there doesn’t get to decide who gets oxygen. And apparently HE is the most interesting man alive.

Cheech –
Really the world would be a worse off place if there were no juggalos? I think not. By the way, if I were to punch you in the face, you’d have to fight off the urge to thank me. I am the life of parties I have never attended. Even my enemies list me as an emergency contact. How’s that for interesting?
Juggalos are a sad bunch. The abused and abusive and neglected and neglecting accepting one another is more tragic than those camps not accepting one another. The virtue of “not giving a fuck” is as frightening as it is vacuous. That they make their way of life generational and take little kids to this sort of thing is the closest thing I can imagine to what a post apocalyptic culture might manifest as, a year or so before cannibalism makes its way back into the human experience.
I would be mortified if my children emulated this sub-subculture of thuglife. Gang members say the same things about belonging and loving their brothers, after beat-ins and rape of each other’s females. The sadness of it is overwhelming. Human wreckage. Self-perpetuating ignorance. Paradoxical, oxymoronic anti-conforming conformity. Glue sniffing, paint-huffing, confused, violent posers making a cesspool of freedom, love and the virtue of mutual support.
The episode of Workaholics that featured the Clown Posse phenomena basically nailed it. As much as a secular society desires to accept novel ways of existing, some ways are too obviously toxic to embrace. Their repeated virtues of tolerance, camaraderie and fun do not mitigate the inherent vileness of that culture’s shallow, abusive and gullible essence.
The film is brilliant.
Glue sniffing, paint huffing, confused, violent posers. Hmmmm…..so i imagine you have an amazing well paying job, a pretty wife, 2 kids, a nice house with a garage, well respected member of society? What makes you so much better than “juggalos” to make these statements. Do you have degrees in psychology, psychiatry, theology? If you do then you do not look like a total jackass. Other wise how do you see fit to judge so many people that you have never personally met. Plus do it in just a few lengthy, hollow worded sentences. You CACTUS have a lot of learning to do.
Granted the “juggalo”community may not be the “perfect” role models, but I actually commend their “I don’t give a fuck” attitude. In this time of society where we have kids and young adults commiting suicide because they are fat, ugly, short, tall and getting teased about it on a daily basis. If parents took it upon their selves to place a little “juggalo therapy” into their children then they may have the confidence to not care what people say about them. Or even the “juggalo” sense of freindship where it doesnt matter where you come from or what color, size, shape you are. You are accepted no matter who you are.
So there are things to be taken from EVERY group of people. Some good some bad.
