It’s almost that time of year again: We’re kicking people out of town! Even though they never really leave!
Our fourth annual Get Out of Town! issue hits the streets Dec. 14. But, hey, blog readers: Is there anyone or anything YOU would like to kick out? If so, have at it in the comments section. If any of the comments are particularly special, perhaps we’ll run them as part of the Get Out of Town package! Isn’t that just spiffy?!?
The comments section is yours, fair citizens. Now get to the hatin’!
This article appears in Nov 23-29, 2006.

KICK OUT THESE FRUITY “ATTENTION WHORES”!
In response to the article “Godless in Tucson”…
What a quack. Who cares if he or ‘they’ don’t believe in God, or any God for that matter? Keep it to yourself you freak!
Somebody was obviously deprived of the necessary attention during their upbringing – very sad. All I can say, we ALL have views, but WHY the hell would you want to make a huge ordeal about it and get the word out, KNOWING that this area is quite religious? It sounds like you’re wanting to feel needed by someone? Possibly by starting your own group makes you feel needed?
Get a damn life you loser.
hugs and kisses
Bud
Bud: I can see your point. But when you have whackadoo Christians (and I mean WHACKADOO Christians — not the reasonable, good ones, of which there are many) running around saying the planet’s only 6,000 years old … can you blame the atheists for wanting to speak out?
There’s a cadre of nasty little bigots that comment regularly on stories in the Arizona Daily Star online. Every story that so much as mentions someone with a Hispanic-sounding name incites these wankers to spew anti-immigrant invective and revolting jingoist rhetoric. They do this even when the news stories have nothing whatsoever to do with immigration issues. It’s stomach-churning. It’s blatantly racist. It’s time for these vile, witless gobs of helmet cheese to GET OUT OF TOWN.
Jimmy: Actually, I should clarify… Yes, the ‘hard core’ Christians (Whackadoo’s), as well as ANY intensely driven freak show group, should be off, off and away from Tucson.
Any group that’s moderate is fine, but once you begin over stepping those moderate boundaries, it becomes a freak show, NO MATTER WHAT view the group is representing.
i.e. the extremist groups should leave….
But that begs the question: Are atheists an extremist group? Or, looking at the reverse view, is it absolutely terrible to hold such a strong faith in one’s God that it has an overwhelming effect on you, if one keeps his or her intense faith private?
This could be broadened in so many directions, too. Are the Minutemen extremists? How about human rights activists? What if I made Max Cannon my God and Bug-Eyed Earl my saviour? (The latest revelation is that I should go buy some camouflage pants.)
My point is this: There are many viewpoints people hold that will, ultimately, collide in a massive fashion. What one holds to be extremist will ultimately be another person’s personal and deeply held point of view. There is always going to be disagreements; however, the goal for the American populace, though, should be to maintain civil and rational discourse and to let the public individually evaluate what is right. The person who decides to instead pick a fight (like that guy described in the article) fails that criterion.
(Shameless plug – Max Cannon’s First Friday Shorts is starting at 9 p.m. at the Loft Cinema. Good stuff.)
Please don’t drive the Crusaders out of town, wait for the raptured. Yeeeeehaw!
I got dibbs on their stuff. When they’re gone, it’s Hummers (the car) for everyone!
I for one will not be driving anyone out of town this year…
unless its those damn athiest..making themselves look bad. Every time you turn around, they got some asshole talking shit about church and state, or one nation under God, look man – We all had to say it.. so get over it you damn humanist. But once we do kick all these neo nazi mother fuckers out (i can say that right? I think i saw ass and shit in there before)of Tucson, thats when im laying back in the shade… order up some Cheba Hut. Yeah. Cheba Hut. 1luv.
Cheba Hut makes the most delish’ hot pastrami subs. Normally I get the “Pinners”, but for that hot meat I go for the “Blunt”. Enjoy

Cheba Hut is a sandwich shop? (…I thought it was something different…) I’m up for a hot pastrami sandwich anytime, so that’s good to know.
I did as well Michael, but I’d only heard of (and been to) one in Tempe Arizona. Guess the good stuff is spreading.
In the Old Pueblo I had an interesting hot pastrami sub at a joint named Bianco or Biancos. I think it was located on Silverlake Road. The meat was on the dryer side and the bread was toasted. Cheese a pickle and a shot of yellow mustard. Quite tasty.
look what i did…ha ha lets all meet there on sat.
for a blunt and a Blunt…!!ha ha
I said blunt and blunt like weed ha .. ha hah ah ah hah..
Hey Chad, won’t be back in town till late on Saturday and I have a social event to attend. I assure you I will be enjoying a blunt prior to that. Can you hook-me-up on Sunday, after church?
