When I think of overpriced cities—I think of San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York City. According to Forbes Magazine, the above cities are mentioned—but so is Tucson, in the Top 10 overpriced cities. What they’re saying about Tucson is the pay scale is very low and the housing market (while lower than many other cities) is too high for the salaries that Tucsonans make.

  1. All the more reason why we need to raise the minimum wage. But even despite that, I know plenty of people who have good jobs, and can’t really afford a house in the metropolitan area, even on two salaries. Which is why all of these developers are building boxes made out of ticky-tacky as far south as Tubac and as far north as Red Rock. Real estate developers want to house in the corridor from Tucson to Phoenix. The housing prices may be more affordable, but think about how much those people would need to spend on gas… yikes. Seems like it’ll only make the problem worse.
