The A.V. Club broke the news and hinted to Letterman’s inevitable retirement in the past. Variety posted a transcript of Letterman’s announcement, so try to act shocked when you watch the Youtube video tomorrow morning.
So, who will fill the king’s shoes after 22 years late talk show hosting at CBS? Craig Ferguson has been slaving away and working hard on the Late, Late Show. Jimmy Kimmel has been Letterman’s biggest fan boy, but he’s doing good work at ABC. I think Chris Hardwick would make a good host, but that’s just me.

Bring back Craig Kilborne!
Thank god. He has not been funny for a very, very long time.
Letterman is still very funny…for folks with an IQ higher than his age. I do realize that would eliminate the majority of AZ voters. Great stuff. God bless David Letterman!
