County Recorder F. Ann Rodriguez, a Democrat who has served in the office since first winning office in 1992, announced today that she will not seek reelection in 2020.
“All events in life have a beginning and an end and this is also true with my journey as your Pima County recorder,” Rodriguez said in a statement. “I have decided to announce my tenure as your Pima County recorder will end at the end of my current term as I will not seek reelection in 2020.”
The recorder is in charge of maintaining Pima County’s records, including real-estate records and voter registration records. In Pima County, the recorder also sends out and verifies early ballots and has other election-related responsibilities.
The gig pays $76,600 in case you’re interested in running for office.

When we didn’t get one of our mail-in ballots, we were put straight through to her on the phone, and she sorted it all out in a couple of minutes. It was a refreshing pleasant experience with bureaucracy, and gave me great confidence in the county’s elections system.
Years ago I worked a season as an election aide. It was an interesting experience and she ran a tight ship.
Elections are generally run fairly well in Pima County, but I’ve noticed one bizarre problem with real estate records. A few years ago … probably around the time a street sign for Croydon Street was misspelled, the newer homeowners were listed on Croyden, but the older owners still had the correct Croydon on their records. Recently, instead of going through newer records & making the correction, somebody sitting at a computer in a county office (I’m assuming this is what happened) went back & changed the original correct spelling on older records to the misspelling. If I lived on Croydon Street I would certainly encourage all the homeowners to protest the Pima County incompetence in that matter.
F Ann was a horrible boss to her employees, she ridiculed and embarrassed them on a daily basis. She is crude , posses poor grammar skills, and unappreciative to her staff. With out a doubt the worst boss. How she made it so long without a lawsuit for sexual harassment/discrimination is beyond me, the comments she made to staff would amaze you. A true bully in every respect..her employees must be rejoicing about her retirement. The wicked witch will be gone not soon enough.
There is a big reason why F Ann Rodriguez has been in office since she won the position in 1992! Is called efficiency! She is in charge until her term runs out and will not seek reelection in 2020! Thanks for a your work F. Ann Rodriguez!
