If ever the left is proven to be a bunch of raging hypocrites, this is Exhibit A in the evidence file.
Liberals on social media were hyperventilating over a set of photos that supposedly showed how cruel President Trump is when it comes to illegal immigrant families and the separation of children from their parents.
But it backfired in spectacular fashion when those images were proven to have been taken when Barack Obama was in the White House, dictating immigration policy and running those agencies that enforce the law, not Trump.
It all started with photos showing illegal children being detained in supposedly deplorable conditions, temporarily housed in fenced in areas while authorities try to process them. The sight of children waiting in cages was too good for liberals to resist, and they shared the images to blast Trump as a heartless man, willing to separate children from their parents by locking them up.
Shaun King, a reporter for the Intercept couldn’t help but spread the fake news, whining that the children were treated like dogs.
Linda Sarsour, the left’s favorite Muslim activist who once called on her followers to conduct a “jihad” against President Trump, joined the chorus.
Perhaps best of all was a tweet sent out by Jon Favreau, a former speechwriter for Obama.
“This is happening right now,” he wrote, incorrectly. “And the only debate that matters is how we force our government to get these kids back to their families as fast as humanly possible.”
Had this Obama official and the other two intellectually-challenged Trump-haters actually clicked on the link they were eager to share, they would have known that the images of ‘caged children’ were actually generated in 2014 when their muse was still President and running the show.
Favreau embarrassingly deleted his tweet criticizing the government for neglecting children, presumably because it is only an outrage if it happens under Trump’s watch.
If Obama does it, it’s totally cool because he means well … or something.
President Trump jumped on social media himself and hammered liberals for trying to make his administration “look bad.”
The President also took a moment to remind Democrats that the law that is being applied which separates families is actually a product of past administrations, not his.
Past administrations didn’t separate families with the fervour that this one has Cliff.
Past administrations usually saved this drastic measure for extreme cases such as signs of child abuse, medical emergencies, or the parents being suspected of participating in felony activities.
I find it amusing how you tRump coddlers always conveniently ignore those Facts.
