Here’s today’s press release from Pima County:

Pima County counted 1,482 early ballots and 927 provisional ballots on Wednesday, Nov. 14, as elections officials continue working to finalize election results.

Brad Nelson, director of the Pima County Elections Department, said that 70 early ballots he has received from the Pima County Recorder’s Office have yet to be counted and that he still expects to receive more early ballots.

According to the Recorder’s Office website, the office has verified and turned over to the Elections Department for counting a total of 261,363 early ballots.

The Recorder’s Office has also verified and turned over to the Elections Department a total of 5,710 provisional ballots, of which 4,783 remain to be counted.

Approximately 27,000 provisional ballots were issued at the polling places on Election Day. The Recorder has until Nov. 16 to verify the remaining provisional ballots.

The count will resume at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15. Brad Nelson, director of the Pima County Elections Department, said that he expects all early ballots to be counted by the end of the day Wednesday.

An as-yet-undetermined number of provisional and conditional ballots issued at the polling places will not be certified for a number of different reasons, including if voters failed to provide the appropriate identification, were not registered to vote, or already cast an early ballot before showing up at the polling places.

As Election 2012 is finalized, daily updates will be posted by 6 p.m. on Pima County’s home page, www.pima.gov, with the total number of ballots counted that day.

By statute, Pima County must certify its election results by Nov. 26.

  1. Ridiculous how polite we have decided to play along. Pima County and the Bartber “campaign” have this one sewn up for the next 2 years. The real question is which/who/what personable, charismatic, and funded Democrat will be prepared by the Party to replace Bartber in 2014, when Ron steps aside, as honestly he must? Hopefully, we’ll have a moderate left Democrat guided by empirical evidence, who can also make an appeal in Sierra Vista and throughout Cochise County to the traditional (Goldwater) libertarian Arizona right.

  2. Martha, I’ve been so involved in Allen West’s recount, the idea of Texas seceding and so despondent about the election outcome, I was unaware of your election distress. Just watched you on Fox News and Greta, what can I do as a conservative American to help you? I thank you for your service to our country and for your conservative beliefs and your information on the plight of women in the Sharia law countries. I believe in the fighting spirit of true Americans and I pray with all my heart that you and other conservatives stay on the issues and push the issues that will save this wonderful, God blessed country. Being a Daughter of the American Revolution, and the daughter of a WWII Veteran, a single mother of two children, and a correctional officer, I refuse to roll over, stand down and not respond to the atrocities that we have happening right in front our eyes. Thank you again for your service. I will help and support you.

  3. DL, just because McSally served in the military doesn’t give her a free pass on why she touts extremist views. A lot of us have served in the military. She embraces the Ryan Budget, which is no friend to the poor, sick, elderly, disabbled, children living in poverty, and the middle class. She is no friend to women, as she is against women making their one health decisions. She is no friend to veterans as she wants to cut health benefits for them as well. Can’t believe you don’t have concern for women in this country but you are concerned about the plight of other women in other countries under sharia law. You state that you have been following the West campaing from Florida, another extremist who was voted out. And you have this infatuation with the Texas seceding nonsense. DL, the election is over and the Romney right failed to appeal to voters because of their extremist views. When the only thing the right can sell is hate, fear, and bigotry, it’s no wonder the republicans will never be the party of the people. If you are so despondent about the election results, perhaps you should evaluate where your moral compass is pointing. Perhaps the atrocities that you say have been happening in front of your eyes is the result of a divided congress that so badly wanted to take our President down. Didn’t happen. So, move on.

  4. food review ………. get your head out of your — It is lefties like you that have the extremist views… free condoms for 10 yr olds, free birth control, free food stamps, wellfare, two (2) years of unemployment, phones, healthcare, healthcare for illegals..
    this country cant afford your view of the “party of the people”…..When you have more takers than payers what do you think the outcome is ????????
    What ever happened to “ask not what your country can do for you” Remember that ??
    JFK !!

  5. Looney.left, you have proven my point. Your posting revealed the hate, fear, and bigotry that you were so eager to display. You just couldn’t help yourself. It appears that your depth of understanding of the social issues is lacking. It’s evident that you are spending way too much time listening to the hate monger entertainers on radio and taking in way too much of the same from the hate mongers on Fox news. You may want to try to expand your limited intellectual awareness by looking for other sources outside of talk radio and Fox. Looney.left, if you choose to be uninformed, then you choose to remain ignorant.

  6. At first this kept being a flip-flop thing: Barber’s ahead, McSally’s ahead, Barber’s ahead, McSally’s ahead, et cetera, et cetera. I like the fact that the most recent posts have been showing Mr.Barber ahead each time. Maybe there’s hope for Arizonans after all.

    I also would like to mention some things to the commenters in this thread:

    @trainmanswife,
    Nothing in particular makes Mr. Barber special, it’s just that his view are more in line with the majority of down to earth people, not the extremist right that Martha McSally is attempting to pander to.

    @looney.left,
    Reading your commentary made me feel looney. How many question marks and et cetera dots do you feel that you……. must use to make your uninformed points???????

    @the food review guy,
    Thank you for interjecting some common sense and intelligence into this thread. It’s nice to know someone who has their finger on the pulse of what’s going on politically decided to access this blog. Keep fighting the good fight.

  7. Interesting how Mr. Barber and Prop. 409 were both losing on Election night and now have pulled out squeaker wins. Brad Nelson and his crop scanner are up to their usual tricks, it seems. Vote me down all you like but you can’t argue with facts and the facts are that elections in Pima County have been fixed for a long time now. If a government can’t prove the legitimacy of the elections it came to power in, the people are under no obligation to obey its laws or leaders.
