As I’ve mentioned in the past, a local food-truck festival would be awesome. Gathering a half-dozen or more mobile-food operations and providing a central dining area would provide a unique eating experience while creating a micro-economy that could help spur Tucson’s mobile-food movement forward.
Hey, it’s worked in other cities, so why not here? I could dig on a scene where Sonoran hot dogs, desserts, tacos, tostinos preparados and other street foods intermingled. Bands could play. Maybe a beer garden? The possibilities are endless.
The owners of the Dragoon Café food truck are trying to organize just such a festival for Tucson, but they’re having trouble finding enough food trucks to participate.
So if you know any food trucks that might be interested — or if you happen to own a food truck — you might consider contacting them over here.
Also, what do you all think about a local food-truck festival? Would you attend? If you’d be so kind as to leave some comments or ideas in the comments section below, that would be great. Together we might just be able to make this happen.

if there are healthy offerings Id be down, like fish tacos , some good veggie stuff
This would be awesome, I wish I had a food truck, I would cheat like Korilla.
Plus if this goes down we can get Adam to do all the dishes while speaking English.
i would be there i use food trucks a lot when i am working and the food is the same quality that you would get at a restaurant
This is a great idea. I would love to see something central – maybe an open lot on Speedway between Country Club and Craycroft- Where food trucks congregated and we Tucsonans could as well. Portland Oregon, for example, has multiple areas (called “Pods”) where food trucks/carts come together to sell their food. http://www.portlandneighborhood.com/portland-food-carts.html

That would be great! How about having it over at Oktoberfest over at Hy Corbett/ReidPark (do they still do that?)? Paper plates are always nice. And do fly in dishwashers from foreign lands who don’t speak English to run those dishwashers.
I agree! So much so that The Mercado San Agustin is in the preliminary planning stages of hosting such an event! We will keep you all posted as soon as we get more information!!
