Now, I didn’t experience this level of chaos and obnoxiousness last night as I ventured out with my family for Black Friday/Darkest Timeline Thursday shopping—the Walmart that I spent too much of my life at last night didn’t get all that violent last night, for instance—but from what I’ve seen, there’s been a fair amount of rowdiness at America’s shopping centers over the past 24 hours.
This supercut of Black Friday violence has it all: brawling, stampeding, yelling, general camera-whoring; basically, it’s everything that you might want to watch on the internet and not experience in person.
Thankfully, Black Friday is nearly over. If you’re still thinking about heading out tonight to take advantage of a few deals, do yourself a favor and be careful—you don’t want to end up as part of next year’s supercut of madness.

UNP New York 11/22 The National Association of Retailers, stung by a Christmas shopping season which has already been termed “an unmitigated disaster”, is preparing to go before Congress with a proposal to move Christmas to the second Monday in January.
Association president Carolyn Schreek says that “A move to the second Monday in January just makes a lot of sense. It would extend the Christmas shopping season by up to three weeks, and it would assure that Christmas is always part of a three day weekend, which would benefit the travel industry as well. There is really no downside to this proposal, and I expect it to enjoy smooth sailing in Congress”.
Consumerism at an all-time low. It’s a proven fact that the best deals always happen during the last couple of weeks before Christmas, not during Grey Thursday/Black Friday. Let’s give the retailing community (meaning the workers that are forced to come in on Thanksgiving) a break by not worrying about getting that Playstation for half-price when we can probably get the same or a better deal later. Target & Wal-Mart, along with other select retailers, are laughing at the American consumer all the way to the bank; they’re also treating their employees like shit along the way. Let’s give Thanksgiving back to the families, the dumbasses waiting in line for hours and/or days in advance will gladly wait longer.
