The Arizona Republic weighs in on the redistricting kangaroo court we saw unfold earlier this week at the Capitol:

Gov. Jan Brewer and Senate Republicans ran roughshod over the public on Tuesday. In a slam-bang special session, they threw out the chairwoman of the Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission.

They trampled a process that voters approved in 2000 to take the job of redrawing the political map away from elected officials.

Many Arizonans may not follow the details of redistricting. But they understand a raw power play.

  1. Who elected all those Republicans?

    The People.

The People understand a raw power play, so this one (by Democrats) failed.

  2. P l e e e e a a a s s s s e e is there anyone out there who remembers Evan Meacham or Fyfe Symington for their governors days or for another name Charles Keating for real estate? Just maybe
Governor Jan Brewer could be enlightened before 2014.
