If you grew up listening to Latin pop in the early 2000s, there’s a good chance Reik was on your playlist. This fall, the band from Mexicali in Baja California, Mexico, is bringing back that nostalgic energy with a modern twist to Phoenix and Tucson as part of its Panorama 2025 U.S.A. Tour.

The first Arizona show is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 10, at the Arizona State Fair in Phoenix. Fair entry is included in the concert ticket, giving fans time to enjoy food and rides before the show. The following night, Saturday, Oct. 11, Reik will perform at the AVA Amphitheater in Tucson.

Formed in 2003, the trio will perform fan favorites like “Yo Quisiera,” “Inolvidable” and “Creo en Ti” alongside songs from the 2024 album, “Panorama.”

“Our shows have always been like a journey through our whole timeline, from the oldest songs to the most recent,” said Gilberto “Bibi” Marín in a phone interview.

He’s Reik’s guitarist and plays alongside lead vocalist Jesús Navarro and guitarist Julio Ramírez.

The band’s music has always had a touch of pop rock and that typical 2000s vibe, but with “Panorama,” Bibi explained it as their version of what pop sounds like for Reik in 2024, reflecting where the members were musically when the album came out.

For Bibi, creating “Panorama” was the result of years spent experimenting with a more urban style and collaborating with different artists.

“We worked with a lot of people … making music in a way that was very different from what we were used to … we learned a lot, so I think all of that is reflected now in this new version of pop for us,” Bibi said.

The title track, “Panorama,” set the course for the album, and creating it was a moment full of emotions, Bibi explained. He said that, musically, it was truly “groundbreaking” for the band.

“This is the new direction we want to take — this is the new sound we’d like to show people and this is where we want to keep experimenting.”

While the venue for the second show in Tucson is connected to a casino, Bibi said he’s not really into gambling. “I actually don’t go to casinos at all, except when we are in Vegas, which is probably like once every two years, and we’re there for a show or we’re passing through on our way to our rooms,” he joked.

Fairs, however, are a different story. He enjoys snacks like funnel cakes and eats “junk food” with an “absurd amount of sugar.”

“If you’re already there, you might as well enjoy it,” he added.

Bibi also said that the band is constantly working on new music and already has songs ready to go. He’s excited to see how fans will respond in the coming months.

Once it wraps up in Arizona, Reik will play Indiana on Friday, Oct. 17, before ending the tour in Illinois on Saturday, Oct. 18.

With each project, Bibi said the band continues to explore and redefine what pop means to them. “The music we make — it’s music for everyone…lyrically it has content that we feel everyone can relate to…love, feelings, emotions, situations that we’ve all been through.”
