Jo Koy has grown from performing open-mic sets in a small Las Vegas coffee shop to becoming one of the most recognizable stand-up comedians in the world, drawing on stories from his family life — especially his experiences as a father — to connect with audiences.

Koy has repeatedly broken attendance records in major markets. In 2017, he sold more than 23,000 tickets across 11 sold-out shows at the Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall in Honolulu, prompting city officials to proclaim Nov. 24 as “Jo Koy Day.” He later became the first comedian to sell out six shows at The Warfield in San Francisco, and he set a new attendance benchmark at the Club Regent Event Centre in Winnipeg with four sold-out performances. In 2019, he sold out five consecutive shows at the San Diego Civic Theatre — the most for any comedian at the venue — and has since surpassed 30 sold-out performances in a single year at the Brea Improv.

In 2018, Koy received the “Stand-Up Comedian of the Year” honor at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. His specials on Comedy Central and Netflix have reached global audiences, including the 2019 Netflix special “Comin’ In Hot.” His comedy album “Live From Seattle” reached No. 1 on the Billboard comedy charts, and his weekly podcast, The Koy Pond, features conversations with fellow comedians and friends.

Koy has also made frequent television appearances, including on “Chelsea Lately,” “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and “Lights Out with David Spade.”

He is currently touring internationally with his “Just Being Koy” Tour, featuring new material.
