Celebrate Hump Day by grabbing grub, drinks or a pastry with a friend or five—it’s for a good cause. On Wednesday, April 22, over a dozen local restaurants are donating up to 20 percent of their profits to the Southern Arizona Center against Sexual Assault. Each participating restaurant is different, with some donating the funds from breakfast/lunch/dinner, or some combination in-between. Some of the best do-gooder restaurants are Reilly Craft Pizza & Drink, Kingfisher Bar & Grill, and Gourmet Girls Gluten Free Bakery Bistro. The money helps support victims of abuse and hopes to prevent future abuse from occurring. Every 2.5 minutes someone is affected by sexual violence; every 13 seconds a child is abused. In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month and National Child Abuse Prevention Month, the question isn’t should I dine out, but rather what cause should I dine out for? More information can be found at dineoutforsafety.org.
