It's Best of Tucson® Time

Posted By on Thu, Apr 20, 2017 at 11:30 AM

It's spring in the desert and we all know what that means: It's Best of Tucson® time.

I think the timing is a little poetic. Just as the temperature outside starts to make some of us desert rats think, "Maybe I'm done with living through the unique hell of monsoon season with a swamp cooler. Maybe I could brave a little snow in the winter months," or even, "Maybe I'm destined to be a snow bird," Best of Tucson is back to remind you with a (possibly too extensive?) survey forcing you to think about your local favorites.

Go fill out your ballot—you've got until the end of May. Here's a rundown of the rules, in case you're new:

1. One ballot per person, please.

2. You must vote in at least 30 different categories to submit a ballot. If you have no opinion in a category, leave it blank.

3. Want to win? You can do simple campaigning—i.e., put up a sign encouraging readers to vote for you, or you can link from your website to ours—but anything beyond that is forbidden. Any businesses, groups or individuals suspected of ballot-box stuffing may be disqualified.

4. Please only vote for local institutions. We're here to celebrate Tucson. Votes for national chains will not be counted.

Are you having trouble logging in? If you've ever voted for something on our website before—perhaps a previous year's Best of Tucson or Cannabis Bowl?—you have to type your name the exact same way you did the first time, or the system will not let you in to vote. Maybe last year you didn't capitalize your first name? Or perhaps you left off your last name? If you can't figure out what is going wrong, please email me (chelo@tucsonlocalmedia.com) and I'll figure it out!
