Gabby Giffords Tells NRCC: Don't "Pretend To Speak For Me"

Posted By on Tue, Oct 7, 2014 at 4:45 PM

After the National Republican Congressional Committee aired an attack ad against Congressman Ron Barber that featured Gabby Giffords, Gabby herself released a statement condemning the tactic.

“No organization or person—no matter which party they say they represent—should think they can come to Southern Arizona and pretend to speak for me," Giffords said. "I work hard to speak, but it's my voice. So take it from me: Ron is an independent leader in Congress, and no one will fight harder for our community.”
