Tired of crawling under the Christmas tree to check and fill the water? You should consider backing Thomas West's "dipstick" Kickstarter campaign. West is trying to raise $1,500 to build a Macgyver-like device that will measure the water levels and refill without having to get on your hands and knees.

"The funds will go towards the materials and equipment to manufacture the product and get the idea off the ground and into production," West says on his Kickstarter page. $10 gets you a thank you card, $15 gets you the dipstick, and $25 gets you the stick and funnel. West has less than 8 days to raise $935.

I guess we all can't be Kickstarter wizards like Amber Rix. Rix has launched her third a successful project, and she's currently at $40,711 with 12 days to go. Not including her Precision Machined Spinning Tops project, the 21 year-old Kickstarter prodigy has raised $233,936. You go girl.
