The Pima Community College governing board will meet Tuesday, Feb. 5 to discuss the college's chancellor search, 7 p.m. at the PCC Community Campus, Room A109-111, 401 N. Bonita Ave. According to the college's public information office, the search process is on hold due to concerns with one of the finalists:

Dr. Brenda B. Even and David Longoria, co-chairs of a citizens’ Search Advisory Committee assisting the Board, notified College employees about the Board of Governors meeting in a College-wide message Jan. 31.

Their message noted that the chancellor search was being put on hold “because of concerns that have arisen regarding one of the finalists.” The finalist in question, Dr. María C. Sheehan, president of Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, Nev., notified the College Feb. 1 that she is withdrawing from consideration.

Hat tip to Tucson Sentinel's Dylan Smith, who reported that one of the finalists withdrew her name when college officials learned of overbilling issues at her former college.
