Listen to Calexico's New CD on Facebook

Posted By on Wed, Sep 5, 2012 at 4:00 PM

Calexico's new CD, Algiers, is set to drop on Tuesday, Sept. 11, but you can give it a listen now. It's streaming on Facebook here.

I've been spending some time with the band this week while they've been rehearsing for their upcoming tour. It's remarkable how much detail goes into reinventing the songs for a live audience. You'll be able to hear it yourself when Calexico plays downtown's Rialto Theatre on Friday, Oct. 26.

We'll have more on Algiers—named for the New Orleans neighborhood where many of the songs were recorded—and the latest Calexico touring lineup in next week's print edition.
