Let's Listen to the New Jimmy Cliff Album

It's been eight years since Jimmy Cliff released a new album, but over the last few months, the reggae legend played the main stage of Coachella and jammed with Bruce Springsteen at SXSW, so it's nice to have him back. His new album, sort of predictably titled Rebirth, is one of those records we've seen a lot lately with a musical icon teaming up with a younger admirer, but quite a few of those albums have really worked (Jack White with Loretta Lynn and Wanda Jackson, in particular) and this one, put together by Rancid's Tim Armstrong, is a fun listen letting reggae's greatest living vocalist do his thing. Check it out for yourself...it's currently streaming at RollingStone.com.

Jimmy Cliff is coming to the Rialto on August 23rd for one of those shows you'll probably kick yourself for missing. Tickets go on sale tomorrow.
