Aboud Bows Out of CD2 Race

Posted By on Fri, Mar 30, 2012 at 10:12 AM

A few weeks after Democrat Ron Barber announced that he would seek the Congressional District 2 in the fall as well as the running to finish the rest of Gabrielle Giffords' term in Congressional District 8, state Sen. Paula Aboud is giving up her congressional ambitions and endorsing Barber.

Aboud's decision leaves just state Rep. Matt Heinz and the little-known Nomiki Konst on the Democratic side in the Congressional District 2 race alongside Barber.

All of the Republicans now running in the Congressional District 8 Republican primary that will be settled on April 17 say that they'll run again for the Congressional District seat later this year, but we're hearing rumblings that one or more might drop out if they don't win this round.

Find out more on all of this here.
