A new Arizona license plate that benefits the fight against hungry is now available.

The Hunger Relief specialty license plate costs $25, and $17 of that goes directly to numerous organizations that fight hunger across the state, including our very own Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. It´s pretty snazzy looking, too, with a nice green background and wheat-stalk motif.

I´ll post the press release with all the pertinent details after the jump.

Arizona Food Banks Pleased to Announce Hunger Relief Specialty License Plate
PHOENIX, ARIZONA: The Association of Arizona Food Banks (AAFB), along with its member food banks Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, Desert Mission Food Bank, St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, United Food Bank, and Yuma Community Food Bank, are pleased to announce the “Ending Hunger One Plate at a Time” specialty license plate is now available for purchase by Arizona vehicle owners.

These official Arizona Hunger Relief specialty license plates can be ordered directly from www.ServiceArizona.com or by visiting any MVD or Authorized Third Party office. The purchase of a Hunger Relief specialty license plate benefits food banks throughout Arizona that collectively serve all 15 Arizona counties.

“The announcement of the Hunger Relief specialty license plate is the culmination of many years of hard work and collaboration on this wonderful project,” said Ginny Hildebrand, AAFB president and CEO. “We’re so excited the public has this opportunity to support and promote our collective vision of ending hunger in Arizona each and every day while they drive.”

Annually, the Hunger Relief license plate costs $25 plus postage and handling. Of the $25, $17 benefits food banks throughout Arizona. Note: Specialty license plate fees are not pro-rated, therefore your new Hunger Relief license plate will renew on your next scheduled vehicle registration renewal date. You may personalize your Hunger Relief license plate. The cost of the personalized Hunger Relief license plate is $50, plus postage and handling. Get your Hunger Relief license plate today by visiting www.ServiceArizona.com or order your plate at any MVD or Authorized Third Party office.
