You Should Listen to This Betty Wright Song

Betty Wright & The Roots: Grapes On A Vine ft. Lil' Wayne by S-CurveRecords

Betty Wright is one of those female singers who had a few hits, but maybe never quite got her due (even though bits of her songs show up frequently as samples in hip-hop and R&B tracks), although she's proven to be a go-to vocal producer in recent years. Thankfully, she's back for her first album in a decade (Betty Wright: The Movie, in stores on the 15th) with The Roots as her backing band. If the Roots would just release an album every few months featuring a living R&B legend, that would really improve my life. Maybe Bobby Womack next?

Bonus:

Betty Wright, "Secretary", which was sampled by RJD2 on "Ghostwriter":
