Way to Go, Republicans

Posted By on Fri, Sep 23, 2011 at 10:00 AM

I suppose it's at least somewhat comforting that it seems like there were only a few rogue jackasses at the Republican presidential debate who booed an American soldier for being gay, but it would have been nice if one of the candidates right (including Rick Santorum, who answered the question) at that moment called out the audience members who were way out of line. It would have taken five seconds and would have seen far more sincere than going on and on about it after the debate was over. It doesn't take that much courage to condemn hate when it's happen, especially from the podium, but that basic level of decency probably should be a qualifier to be president.
