8.9 Earthquake Hits Japan, Waves Hitting US Shores

Obviously, there's a lot going on around the Pacific Rim today following a massive earthquake with hundreds dead in Sendai, the Japanese city closest to the epicenter of the 8.9 magnitude quake. So far, waves have hit Hawaii, Oregon and parts of California, but it appears the rush of water will be manageable.

The BBC has a page with live video and a constant rush of information from around the world, if you'd like to keep track of what's happening.
