NRA Head Has Interesting Perspective on the Tucson Shootings

Posted By on Fri, Feb 11, 2011 at 9:45 AM

Wayne LaPierre, if nothing else, is a dedicated spokesman for his organization, the National Rifle Association. He doesn't bend, give in, or sway from his pro-gun beliefs ever, and at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, DC yesterday, he gave another impassioned speech that mentioned the events of January 8th.

"If Tucson taught us anything it taught us this: Government failed," LaPierre said. "And when they tell you that a ban on assault weapons can make you safer, don't you buy it, not one second, because it's a lie. Their laws don't work, their lies aren't true. By its laws and lies and lack of enforcement, government policies are getting us killed."
