Public Discourse Press Conference at 3 p.m.

According to a press release today, "Arizona civic leaders respond to the tragic events of January 8th by promoting a more civil and respectful tone in our nation’s public discourse" by coming together for a bipartisan press conference today at 3 p.m. at the Old Pima County Courthouse.

In the aftermath of the attack on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, her constituents and her staff, Republican and Democratic elected officials from Tucson and throughout Arizona are joining forces to push one simple message: “We commit to promote a civil discussion of the issues we face.”

WHAT: Bipartisan Press Conference: “As We Heal, Promoting a Civil Discussion”

WHEN: Friday, January 14, 2011, 3:00 PM

WHERE: The Old Pima County Courthouse, 115 N. Church Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85701

WHO: Confirmed Speakers Include:
U.S. Representative Raúl Grijalva (D, AZ-7)
State Representative Steve Farley (D-Dist 28)
Pima County Supervisor Ray Carroll (R-Dist 4)
Tucson City Council Member Steve Kozachik (R-Ward 6)
Tucson City Council Member Karin Uhlich (D-Ward 3)

* Other AZ elected officials from both parties and all levels of office will be on hand as well to speak with the press afterwards.
