Border Issues Fair

The Seventh Annual Border Issues Fair begins tonight and continues tomorrow at the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, 17750 S. La Cañada Drive in Sahuarita.

At 7 p.m. tonight Guy Davis performs, and admission is a suggested $10 donation. For more information, call Shura Wallin, 399-1454, or Good Shepherd, 625-1375

Saturday's Schedule:

Sat., 8 a.m.: Registration & Displays
8:30 a.m. Music with Ted Warmbrand
9:00 a.m.: Dr. Bruce Parks, Pima County Medical Examiner, “Border Crosser Deaths”
11:30: Ofelia Rivas, “Restriction of Mobility and Militarization on O’odham Lands”

Workshops before and after lunch:
*Immigration Reform: Advocacy and Legislation
*Immigration Law, SB 1070, and the Dream Act
*Border Community Development
*Family Reunification
*Border Arts Project
*Songs of the Movement with Ted Warmbrand

2:30 p.m.: Presenters’ Wrap-up, Q & A, What’s Next?

$15 donation includes lunch served by Hogar de Esperanza y Paz, Nogales
Please bring a gallon of drinking water for those in the desert (without the plastic carrying ring)
