- Bill Heilman's wife, Suzie Heilman, was at the scene of the crime with 9-year-old Christina Taylor Green, one of the six victims from Saturday's shooting. Mrs. Heilman is currently recovering from multiple gunshot wounds at the UMC.

- Dr. Peter Rhee, a surgeon at the UMC, told members of the press that congresswoman Gabrielle Gifford "has a 101 percent chance of survival."

- Specialists Col. Geoffrey Ling and Dr. James Ecklund came to Tucson from Washington D.C. to help treat Giffords. Both have extensive experience with treating combat wounds.
