More than 400 people showed up at the UMC vigil last night. While there was a small group of well-wishers on the lawn in front of the hospital's main entrance throughout the day, a small group of friends and past Giffords campaign volunteers pulled together the vigil and asked those who came during the day to get the word out that a vigil would start at 5:30 p.m.

By the end of the evening, the Tucson Weekly counted more than 400 people.
