Chicago Politics: Far More Entertaining Than Tucson's

Posted By on Mon, Jan 3, 2011 at 3:30 PM

Whether Carol Moseley Braun would make a good mayor for Chicago or not, I have no idea (and even if I did have an opinion, I would keep it to myself to avoid the wrath of Rahm Emanuel), but you have to admire the simplicity of her responses to questions from the media.

The obsession with candidates' tax returns is a little strange, since whatever news is gleaned from their release seems to be buried quickly by the news cycle, but Moseley Braun just won't play the game at all.

According to the Chicago Tribune, her answer to why she won't release her returns:

"Because I don't want to," Braun said when asked why she wouldn't be releasing them in the time before the Feb. 22 election.

It's hard to argue with that logic, really.
