The Great Cover Up Begins Tonight

Clearly we've written quite a bit about The Great Cover Up, but that's because it's awesome, and you should go.

The Tucson Weekly is all over this thing as a sponsor and is connected to some of the organizers in one way or another, but tonight, you get an extra dose of the Weekly, with Jimmy Boegle and Jim Nintzel helping host the festivities at the Rialto.

The bands only play for 20 minutes a piece, so if you don't like one, another band is right around the corner, and they'll all be better cover bands than these guys:


Tonight's lineup, below the cut:

Doors at 5:30
7:00 — The Opposables

Covering in no particular order: The Allman Brothers, Deftones, The Who, Sheryl Crow, Jimi Hendrix, Beat Happening, Depeche Mode, Dean Martin, John Mayer, Cake, The Alkaline Trio, Roxy Music, Black Sabbath

One night is $8; two nights are $12; see all three nights for $15 and get a commemorative poster. The nights at the Rialto are all ages, Friday night at Congress is 21 and over.
