The Announcements and the Numbers Start Rolling in at the Marriott

Posted By on Tue, Nov 2, 2010 at 8:12 PM

One screen at the Marriott has been switched over to the Secretary of State's website, which currently shows Ruth McClung way ahead of Raul Grijalva. The buzz in the room here turned ugly relatively quickly, but an announcement went over the PA to try to calm the crowd, assuring everyone that the numbers on the screen were "very preliminary."

Most of the people attending the event so far are cautiously optimistic, with one person I talked to mentioning that he "was glad to hear it wasn't going as bad as it could."
