When early results showed Ruth McClung had a strong lead against U.S. Congressman Raul Grijalva, and we asked her how she felt.

"I am excited for America! We are diverse, and I believe that makes us strong. We need to unite together and work as Americans. This is our country and together we are going to do great things..."

About her lead: "Im excited," said McClung. "I want to say a huge thank you to all of the people here helping me. I am so glad to have so many friends here. I also have friends across the district that couldn't be here tonight. I am nervous and I am excited, and we will just see what happens."

Right now, results show Grijalva ahead by 1,321 votes.
