Gene Armstrong had some nice things to say about local rapper Savant's self-released EP, "The Delayed Entry" in this week's issue, calling it a "savvy, literate and completely satisfying EP that bobs and weaves, floats on waves of energy and muscular momentum and doesn't sacrifice hardness when he waxes sentimental."
Savant, who (like all cool people everywhere) follows us on Twitter asked that we mention that the EP is available for free — and legally, even — on his Bandcamp site. The process is completely painless and in a few minutes, you'll be bumping along to some local hip hop. Also, if you'd like to see Savant perform live (and based on some of the videos on his Facebook page, he has a better live presence than most rap acts), he's on a bill with the Indigo Kids at Club Congress this Sunday night.
