Sun Tran Strike Update: Negotiations Reopen at Meeting Tonight (Friday)
This just in, via a Sun Tran press release:
Professional Transit Management officials and representatives of Teamsters Local 104 have agreed to reopen negotiations on the terms of a new contract for drivers, mechanics and other bargaining unit employees. The parties will meet later tonight at an undisclosed location.
The current contract expired at midnight on Saturday, July 31, and Teamsters called a strike on Monday, Aug. 2 (at) 12:01 a.m.
