BroFest III

Posted By on Mon, Apr 12, 2010 at 7:57 PM

A big invite to one and all.

This Sunday April 18, is the date for the third annual BROFEST.

Where: Jacobs Park, Ramada 1 (Jacobs Park is on Fairview Avenue between Prince Road and Miracle Mile.)

When: April 18, noon to 4 p.m.

Why: This event is in memory of Danny and Mike Mack. The Mack boys were brothers who were killed in two separate vehicle accidents less than one year apart. They were a big part

of our extended family and were active in the Flowing Wells School District.

Why Part 2: This year, we are raising money to have the first-ever BroFest Book Fair at Walter Douglas School. The boys attended elementary school there, and their mom, Libby, still teaches first-grade there. We want to get new books in the hands of the kids at the school. (See our Facebook page.)

The money raised at the two previous BroFests resulted in The Mack Track, a kilometer-long walking track around the perimeter of Walter Douglas playground. (Find all that info on our Facebook page.)

What will you find: Fun and games for kids, including a fishpond, face painting, jumping castle and more.

Food: $5 for a picnic plate with either 2 hot dogs or 1 hamburger, chips and an oatmeal cookie; soda and water water are $1

Music: Roadhouse! If you haven't heard them, you must.

Raffle: Lots of fab prizes including the use of condos at Rocky Point, golf packages, restaurant certificates, handcrafted works by local artisans and more.

Plus, you're helping a great cause!
